Allocate a part of your travel budget to tasting the local dishes. For example, a pizza will cost about 8-15 euro, a slice of pizza 3-4 euro, a small beer will be about 4 euro and 6 euro for a large one, and the house wines (which cost less) are about 8 euro per liter. In general, an average meal in a restaurant will cost you approximately 25-40 euro per head. You can calculate the approximate cost before you go in, because prices are shown at the entrance to each outlet. The restaurants in the Cinque Terre which we recommend are marked on the map.
Remember: most restaurants are closed from 3 pm to 6 pm. Bars are an exception, and so too are places serving aperitifs and the local take-away shops.

“Belforte” Restaurant, Vernazza
This restaurant, famous throughout the Cinque Terre, surprises its guests for the high quality and the wonderful taste of their delicious dishes. Even though dinner at the “Belforte” will cost you quite a bit, it will be money well spent in exchange for the chance to watch the sun setting on the horizon as you enjoy the fresh fish of Vernazza and sip a good wine! There is every reason for the “Belforte” to be considered the best restaurant in the Cinque Terre.
Average costs: 35 - 60 euro per head. Closed on Tuesday.
Bar-restaurant “La Torre”, Vernazza
It’s the twin brother, in economic version, of the “Belforte”, and is located on the opposite side of Vernazza. “La Torre” is located on the upper part of the village with enchanting sunset views.
To find it, follow the signs on the path toward Corniglia and as you climb from Vernazza you will see it.
Restaurants in Monterosso al Mare
There and many and varied restaurants in Monterosso. This village of the Cinque Terre offers eating venues for all tastes. The most popular with tourists is the restaurant “Milky”. You will feel the romantic atmosphere of Monterosso here, and prices are moderate (20 - 40 euro per person).
Wine bar “Enoteca da Eliseo”, Monterosso al Mare
In the historic center of Monterosso you will find “Enoteca da Eliseo”, a paradise for fans of the aperitif. This wine bar holds the record for the variety of their wine list and if you want to try the local Ligurian wine, “Enoteca da Eliseo” is the right place for that. The bar is open until late.
Cheap lunch
In the Cinque Terre they’re used to preparing everyday dishes and you can always find something to nibble on at any time. There are plenty of places in the Cinque Terre where you can grab a quick bite, which is often takeaway. You can eat pizza, sandwiches and baguettes (bread roll with different types of filling), or the popular fry of mixed fish, fritto misto (fish crumbed and fried). You can eat on the rocks as you enjoy the view of the village. You will find economical meals like this mainly in Vernazza and Riomaggiore.
